### 🩸 ABOUT THE GAME

You are the manager of an exclusive aesthetic clinic. Every morning, your staff brings crucial operational dilemmas to your desk: switching suppliers, handling client complaints, launching aggressive marketing campaigns, or cutting technical procedures.

On paper, it’s standard business management. **The catch? One of your four employees is an impostor.**

Their goal isn't to burn the clinic down overnight—it's to quietly push your business toward collapse through plausible, well-reasoned, but subtly biased advice. In *Deep Skin*, you never work with absolute truth—only estimates, delayed consequences, and accumulating paranoia.

### 👁️ KEY FEATURES

* **Imperfect Information & Estimates:** Employees never give exact stats; they present *estimates* based on their beliefs. The true outcome on your metrics is revealed only at the end of the day. Did your Accountant miscalculate due to incompetence, market bad luck... or sabotage?

* **Simultaneous Tri-Metric Impact:** No choice is isolated. Every single decision directly alters all three core indicators at once: **Cash**, **Reputation**, and **Paranoia**.

* **Ticking Clock Pressure:** Decisions are made on a fast-running timer. Hesitation costs dearly, reinforcing that trusting (or doubting) too quickly carries heavy risks.

* **Active Investigation Tools:** Step away from daily dialogues to investigate your staff using dedicated manager systems:

  * 📹 **Security Cameras:** Monitor real-time employee behavior and slack-off levels.

  * 📖 **The Ledger / Agenda:** Cross-reference history to compare past employee estimates against actual results to spot systematic sabotage patterns.

* **Paranoia & Mandatory Firing:** If Paranoia peaks, panic forces an immediate firing. Spot the real impostor, and the clinic stabilizes. Fire an innocent employee, and pay heavy severance costs while the real saboteur continues operating unnoticed.

### 🩺 THE CLINIC STAFF & ROLE BIASES

Innocent staff members make natural mistakes driven by their job roles—so an error is not automatic proof of betrayal. The impostor gives sound advice 90% of the time, executing only 2–3 strategically timed sabotages per run.

* 🚪 **Receptionist (Authority: Clients & Reviews):** Prioritizes client satisfaction and reputation above all else.

* 💉 **Senior Aesthetician (Authority: Technical Procedures):** Prioritizes quality, safety, and equipment standards over profit margins.

* 📊 **Accountant / Finance (Authority: Costs & Cash Flow):** Prioritizes budget cuts and saving money, often downplaying service risks.

* 📣 **Marketing Specialist (Authority: Campaigns & Public Perception):** Prioritizes visibility and reach, often inflating campaign potential.

* **Left Click:** Interact with choices, select options, and open manager tools (Agenda / Camera).

* **Timer:** Decide before the clock runs out to avoid automatic mismanagement penalties.

### ⚠️ PROTOTYPE DISCLAIMER & GAME JAM NOTE

*Deep Skin* was built as a prototype for **Brackeys Game Jam 2026.2** around the theme **"Trust No One"**. Each run lasts **5 to 7 in-game days** with randomized impostor assignments for high replayability.
